I LOVE Colette Patterns! In case you don’t know they are an independent pattern company based out of Portland. They make gorgeous vintage inspired dresses that flatter a variety of sizes (it seems like they were designed with curvy girls in mind). Here is their adorable blog! The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
This dress has 16 buttons down the front, needless to say it was extremely tedious but worth it in the end. I changed the sleeves to a simple cap, the pattern features a gathered fuller one that I didn’t really love.
I love this dress, its so fresh and sunny. Thanks for looking!

Hey, Chelsea, love your blog- Chandra showed it to us today. I love your creations. I think it’s amazing that you can think three dimensionally with fabric like this. I now have you bookmarked with all of my knitting and crafting blogs that I read. Good luck with your new blog!

I love your dress! It fits you perfectly.
I’m currently working on this one too, and I’m curious… How did you finish your seams on this dress?
chelseag
Thanks! I finished the seams by serging the pieces before I sewed it up… the weird seams are the one bad thing about those Colette patterns. Good luck!

This is so gorgeous, one of the nicest Ceylons I’ve seen! Just found you through the Colette Patterns online gallery…

Hi, I just found you through the Collette Patters online gallery. I absolutely love your Ceylon. You did such a great job fitting it, and the cap sleeves are the perfect touch.

How did you do the capped sleeves? I have the pattern but also am not a fan of the ruffle sleeve. Any suggestions would be great!

I too would love love love to have a sentence or two on how you drafted the cap sleeve. I’ve sewn up this dress once and I liked it except that those puffed sleeves just look ridiculous on me.

Love your dress! I don’t really like the Collette sleeves either and have also changed them to simple cap sleeve on my Oolongs. They look a little too costumey especially on the Ceylon. Looks a little too Alic In Wonderland with the original sleeve. I like your version better!

It would be great if you gave some tips on how to draft the capped sleeve. Your dress is the best one I have seen on line so far!
